It is the bottom of the 6th in the division championship game. Your daughter is on third base and her team is down by one run with two outs. The pitch is thrown. It's a wild one. Your daughter takes off as fast as she can and slides into home. At the same time the catcher tosses the ball to the pitcher who holds on and makes the tag. Everyone is looking at the ump, and he calls her out. The game is over, you and your daughter are both upset, and it's all the umpire's fault. It was a terrible call and you wish you could change the way it was called. Now you can! The Volunteer Application Form is now available and we are looking for umpires! Choose below if you would like to submit it online or by mail. If you would like to submit it online, download a copy to your computer and open it with Adobe Reader. Once you fill it out, click "Send Application" or email it to email@example.com. If you choose to mail it, send it to PO Box 321, Powhatan, VA 23139. Please submit the application with a copy of a valid state or federally issued photo ID.
It is also REQUIRED that every volunteer, including paid, complete a background check. One way you can do this ahead of time is by completing your background check through the Chesterfield County Police. To do this, you will need to visit the Police Headquarters at 10001 Iron Bridge Rd in Chesterfield. There are specific dates and times they are available to do this, so go early as it can take up to a month to receive. Due to this being a paid position, you may be required to pay to complete a background if it is not done through the Chesterfield PD. Even if you are simply thinking about being an umpire but aren't sure, go get one. It's free and is good for three years.
Thanks in advance for volunteering, we can't wait to see you out on the field!
